Water Wheels (Models in Physical Science) [VHS]

Working in teams, students eagerly tape together plastic cups and plates, fill bucket of water, and discuss how to build and test the most efficient water wheels. This VHS tape features a group of 8th graders and an investigation which spans 6 weeks. The challenge is to use plates, cups, tape, rods, and string to make a water wheel strong enough to lift nails. A good case study on how to apply the scientifid method and apply critical thinking skills.
